I have often said that our own people would enslave us, rather than communist hordes from central Europe overrunning us. Look at the Stasi: Germans spying on Germans and locking them up. Yes, it can, it IS happening here. Why would a policeman violate the Constitutional rights of a citizen? "because he's just doing his job". Do you think a Federal secret policeman from the DHS would hesitate to detain you if he thought you had the right to protest our involvement in the middle east, when he was under instructions to lock you up for awhile? He would do what he was told to do, and would leave his conscience at home. Don't depend on law enforcement people to uphold our constitutional rights; they won't. You should form or join a group that wants the (un)Patriot Act overturned.
