Bush Prefers Canadian Pretty Boy
(Ottawa) Details are emerging about a strange meeting involving US President George W. Bush and a senior aide to Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin.

It allegedly occurred following a breakfast between Bush and Martin at the recent summit in Monterrey, Mexico. As the two leaders discussed issues dividing the countries; the war in Iraq, trade, and mad cow disease; Martin called in Scott Reid, his senior strategist.
It was Reid`s job to brief Martin prior to a press conference Martin and Bush were about to give. As the Prime Minister spoke with his aide, Bush wandered over to introduce himself.
"Well, what do you do for this guy?" the President asked as he pointed to the Prime Minister.
"Well, you know, sir, I can`t really say," Reid said. "It`s not that I don`t want to. It`s just that, you know, I don`t really know from day to day."
Reid is known as a "fixer" handing a number of sensitive issues in the Prime Minister`s Office.
The President chuckled. "Well, you got a pretty face," he told the surprised Reid.
And, the president wasn`t done. "You got a pretty face," he said again. "You`re a good-looking guy. Better looking than my Scott anyway."
The other Scott is Scott McClellan, Bush`s press secretary.
The Canadian Scott is 35 and ruggedly handsome. The American version is balding and chubby.
"I didn`t know what to say," Reid later told reporters.
"When a Texas Republican says you`ve got a pretty face, then I guess there is just no way around it."
Another Canadian in the room suggested that if Reid had been a woman Bush might have found himself in a sex discrimination suit and the subject of a Congressional inquiry.
