FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Aug. 1, 2005
The time has come to seize business opportunities stemming from the immense building boom taking place in Kansas City. To facilitate this activity, the Capital Improvements Management Office will be the host of the 2005 Kansas City Works Forum Aug. 9, from 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The forum will be in the newly renovated Bartle Hall Convention Center 2100 series rooms.
The forum will focus on centralizing project management and fostering relationships among potential contract stakeholders. Additionally, industry professionals will be given:
–– An update and progress report on City initiatives
–– An opportunity to discuss topics including bid opportunities, contract compliance, MBE/WBE/DBE goals, workforce utilization and payment processes
–– An exclusive networking opportunity with representatives from relevant business development companies, construction industry businesses, related professional organizations and service providers, and City departments
–– A digital directory with attendee, partner and resource contact information.
