KC Iraq Task Force presents...
EMBEDDED HUMANITARIAN: Eyewitness to the Iraq War
Kathy Kelly, co-founder of Voices in the Wilderness and a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, was present in Baghdad throughout the war in March 2003, giving witness to the effects of the war and trying to promote a peaceful resolution to the crisis. She has been to Iraq 15 times
since 1996, leading delegations and delivering humanitarian supplies in defiance of UN sanctions.
Voices in the Wilderness and KC Iraq Task Force expect further evasions and distortions as Washington pursues its economic and military interests through the occupation of Iraq. Kathy Kelly was present with Iraqi civilians to witness the cruelty and depravity of "shock and awe." Throughout the war, embedded journalists’ reports were touted as fact while independent eyewitness accounts
were often omitted or underplayed by mainstream U.S. media.
Come out to hear Kathy’s eyewitness report!
