Honor our Heroes Festival – Celebrate Sacrifice
Honoring those who risk their lives to serve us.

As the anniversary of the World Trade Center disaster nears, people in the Lee’s Summit area reach out to salute local heroes.

You’re invited to the 4th annual event in Lee’s Summit to recognize the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve the public. Everyone is invited to the event. Area law enforcement personnel, firefighters, EMT/trauma professionals and members of the armed services and all of their families have been invited as the guests of honor for the celebration. The celebration, which is free and open to the public, will have food, fun, games and activities for the entire family.

Live Music from area bands will perform during the event. Fun for the entire family includes a rock-climbing wall, inflatable sumo wrestling, pedestal joust and giant glove boxing, bungee games, team challenge obstacle course, bounce castle, laser maze, and more. Kids will have fun with face painting and other activities.

Date: Saturday, September 9, 2006
Time: 3:00 to 8:30 pm.

Directions:
From Wal-Mart at Tudor Rd and Independence Ave., go north on Independence, then turn left at the Celebrate Sacrifice grounds at 1800 NE Independence Ave. or from Waffle House at Douglas Road, go east on Missouri Road (which is just south of I-470) and turn right at the Celebrate Sacrifice grounds.

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets.
